What is Islam?

  The meaning of Islam. Islam means peace acquired by submitting your will to Almighty God (Allah). It is mentioned several places in the Qur'an including Surah Ale Imran Chapter 3: Verse 19 and Surah Ale Imran Chapter 3: Verse 85. And the word Muslim means a Person who submits his will to Almighty God (Allah). And this word is also mentioned in the Authentic Hadith and several places in the Glorious Qur'an including Surah Ale Imran Chapter 3: Verse 64. There is a misconception that Islam is a new religion which came to existence 1400 years back and Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him) was the founder of this religion. In fact Islam is there since man set foot on the earth. And Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) is not the founder of the religion of Islam but he is the last and final Messenger of Almighty God (Allah).  

  Almighty God (Allah) has sent several revelations but the last and final revelation is the Glorious Qur'an which was revealed to the last an final Messenger Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). And all the revelations before the Qur'an were sent only for a particular group of people and was supposed to be followed till a particular time period. But the last and final revelation, The Glorious Qur'an was not revealed only for the Muslims or the Arabs, but it was revealed for the whole of humankind.
